I don't know the answers to all your questions, but I would recommend talking with an adoption attorney in your area. It may cost a few hundred dollars for a consultation to get all your questions answered, but it would be worth it to get the correct answers so you can make an informed decision.

I'd consult a lawyer asap. Since he legally adopted he, he DOES have legal rights. You also need to report the abuse asap. A judge may be able to terminate his rights based on that as well. Good luck to you. Many hugs ans prayes.
